Elden Ring is one of 2022’s most anticipated games, and director Hidetaka Miyazaki has been dropping hints and details about the game to get players hyped. Most recently, he has gone on record saying that more people will complete it compared to other FromSoftware series’ like Dark Souls. PlayStation Blog’s latest interview with Miyazaki shed some light on FromSoftware’s development process with Elden Ring. Previous games have become infamous for their steep difficulty and unforgiving battles, but Miyazaki is confident that fewer players will be deterred by challenging gameplay this time around....

While Elden Ring players are working tirelessly to reduce The Land Between’s population to zero (only to have most of them come back to life upon resting at a site of grace), they might have come across some of the game’s many status effects. These range from buffs to health and stamina to debuffs like poison, frostbite, and the ever-infamous scarlet rot. Debuffs in particular are special, as they are the only status effects Elden Ring players would wish to impart on the game’s enemies....

The vast majority of Elden Ring players will likely run into a boss in the game at some point that they will struggle with. Some other Elden Ring players, however, have already taken to making the game more difficult for themselves just for the sake of it. Streamer SuperLouis64 already decided to make Elden Ring harder for himself by beating a boss using a Nintendo Ring Fit Controller. This was no easy feat as the control scheme demanded a decent amount of physical activity and quick reaction times....

It seems like Psychonauts 2 could be one of the best games of the year. Hopefully, the positive reviews of Psychonauts 2 draw more people to the title because it doesn’t seem to have the same mainstream appeal that other big AAA games releasing later this year have. Paladin Danse is a member of the Brotherhood of Steel and a potential companion in Fallout 4. Invincible is an animated show based on a graphic novel series of the same name. It follows the story of a young teen named Mark, who discovers he has superpowers just like his father. After the disastrous launch of Battlefield 2042, it only makes sense for other studios to try to steal the Battlefield franchise’s thunder. Developer Riverside Sports chose a different approach, however, leaning into the issues in service of parody with Clownfield 2042. EA and DICE launched Battlefield 2042 last year and quickly drew widespread backlash for taking the series in a direction with less tactical depth. Major balancing issues were also seen, while the numerous bugs ruined the experience of players....

Destiny 2’s Season of the Splicer is just around the corner, releasing its introductory mission on May 11. The new Season of the Splicer revolves around the Vex collective emerging from the shadows to cast darkness on the Last City. Guardians will seek the aid of both Ikora and Mithrax, a Fallen ally that happens to be a Splicer, which means he can commune with machines. Season of the Splicer will also include a cool Exotic sidearm called Cryosthesia 77K, capable of shooting Stasis blasts, new seasonal armor and weapons, old legends returning from Destiny (including the fan-favorite Hung Jury), extremely cute Fallen babies, and a new six-player matchmade activity....

With the amount of change that Destiny 2 is about to go through, it can be kind of hard to get a grasp of what all players can expect once The Witch Queen releases. The new expansion will introduce an entirely new campaign to Destiny 2 as well as a new location and a new class of enemies. While new tends to be good, and all of this is necessary to progress Destiny 2’s story, it also comes at the cost of content vaulting....

With AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution officially launching tomorrow, we were sure NVIDIA would share some DLSS announcements today. That happened as expected, though NVIDIA did not talk about DLSS 2.2 except to say that the company doesn’t advise doing the manual swap we detailed in a recent post as it’s not guaranteed to work. The announcements were of a more regular fashion. First and foremost, DLSS will be added to Rust (which already supports NVIDIA Reflex to lower the system latency) with an update scheduled for July 1st....
