Liger, a pan-Indian movie starring Telugu actor Vijay Deverakonda, opened in theatres globally on August 25 but fell short of fans’ expectations. It has now been a little over 15 days. Since then, Vijay has kept a low profile on social media. Today, he broke his silence by posting a photo of himself online.

The Geetha Govindam actor struck quite a posture while sporting a sleek black costume, but it was his caption that garnered more attention. In the caption, the actor simply wrote “Single Player,” leaving the decision up to the viewers.

After he posted the photo, his followers reacted quickly to express their admiration and support for the actor.

One individual commented, “you will rise like a phoenix and fly like an eagle baby”, while another individual wrote, “Doesn’t matter your movies are hit or flops. You’re only one”. A fan also called Vijay, “One man army”, while another encouraged the actor by writing, “Come back strong VD”.

Puri Jagannadh and Charmme Kaur collaborated on the ambitious film Vijay’s Liger, which Karan Johar and co-producer Karan Johar also directed. According to reports, the movie, which also starred Ananya Panday and Ramya Krishnan, only managed to earn a worldwide total of Rs 66.89 crore. The movie received criticism for its excessive spice and flimsy storyline.

The next time we’ll see Vijay is in the action movie Jana Gana Mana (JGM), which is also a Puri Jagannadh production. The movie, which was announced before Liger came out, is scheduled to be out sometime in 2019. JGM was reportedly shelved earlier, however, Charmme refuted the rumors on social media.
