Deadline reports production is scheduled to begin in 2022, with Nolan directing at least the premiere episode of the Fallout TV series. Furthermore, Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner are on board as showrunners. So far, a cast list hasn’t been announced, and there still isn’t anything close to a planned release date.
At the time that the Fallout TV series was announced, both Joy and Nolan made it clear that one of the reasons they wanted to do the show was because they’ve played a ton of games in the franchise. They also seemed to tip off where they wanted to go with the series now that it’s in their hands. They called the IP darkly funny, which would seem to indicate that they have a dark comedy in mind when this show finally hits screens.
Nolan taking on the role of director is relatively rare. He’s mostly worn the producers’ hat when it comes to the projects he’s worked on. He made his directorial debut on the CBS series Person of Interest, but he also created and was the executive producer of that series.
