A sneak glimpse of The Flash has surfaced. Ezra Miller, actor of The Flash, revealed the first look at the forthcoming standalone DC Comics film about the speedster at DC FanDome on Saturday. Barry Allen/The Flash (Miller) is granted the ability to travel to any reality he desires. He goes to the one where his mother Nora Allen (Maribel Verd) is still living, of course. But, as a result of his deeds, the multiverse is thrown into turmoil, and Barry finds himself in different dimensions. That’s how The Flash will feature at least two returning Batmans, portrayed by Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton, with the latter’s cowl glimpsed briefly in The Flash’s first look at DC FanDome.

“We are unable to provide you with a preview since we do not have sufficient video.” Miller remarked at DC FanDome, “We’re still producing the movie,” before giving us a first look that teased a lot. The trailer demonstrates the type of comedy that DC fans can expect from the live-action The Flash film. Barry, played by Miller, has a blast revealing the old vintage Batmobile, which is promised but never shown. With Barry tinkering with the fabric of space and time, there are also some dramatic moments. Oh, and did I mention that Barry will form a team with other Flashes from different timelines? Yes, it is taking place.

In addition to Miller, Verd, Affleck, and Keaton, Sasha Calle plays the Krpytonian Supergirl, who shares Superman’s powers and outfit. It’s unknown if Supergirl will appear in our realm or if Barry will see her on his interdimensional travels. From the Justice League Snyder Cut, Kiersey Clemons reprises her role as Iris West, Barry’s love interest. Ron Livingston will take the role of Billy Crudup, who played Barry’s father Henry Allen in Snyder Cut. On The Flash, Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Rudy Mancuso, and Luke Brandon Field have unspecified roles.

Warner Bros. maintains its habit of choosing directors who have previously directed a hit horror film for the studio with The Flash. Andy Muschietti, the director of It and It Chapter Two, is in charge of The Flash. Along with Michael Disco, his sister Barbara Muschietti is a producer on The Flash. The Flash is writer Christina Hodson’s second shot at a DC Extended Universe title, with Warner Bros. inviting her back after being impressed with her work on the Margot Robbie-led Suicide Squad spin-off Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn).

Henry Braham, who worked on The Suicide Squad, is still working in the DCEU as a cinematographer on The Flash. The editor is Paul Machliss (Baby Driver). Muschie

Before we see The Flash, Warner Bros. and DC Films will release The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson, in March 2022. Unlike The Flash, The Batman is not part of the DCEU. The Dwayne Johnson-led Black Adam will be released in July 2022, followed by Jason Momoa’s Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom in December 2022, and Zachary Levi’s Shazam! Fury of the Gods in June 2023. All three are members of the DCEU.
