Europa Universalis IV or EU4 is a popular grand strategy game developed by Paradox Development Studio and published by Paradox Interactive.
It’s available on macOS, Microsoft Windows, and Linux. The game has been around for years and still gets new updates to keep players hanging around.
But it seems that after a recent update — specifically version 1.31.2 — players aren’t able to vassalize nations.
Here are some reports from players for reference.
Do note that this bug isn’t to be confused for the intentional change that now prevents players from being able to vassalize with the Humiliate CB.
According to reports, Europa Universalis IV players aren’t able to vassalize a nation with most CBs after the 1.31.2 patch.
Since the new nations have many missions that involve vassals, the bug makes the game somewhat unplayable. Although, some Europa Universalis IV players confirm that they are able to vassalize with the subjugation CB.
Fortunately, the game developers were quick to pick up on the reports and have confirmed that they are aware of the new bug and are working on a fix for it.
The team has not yet shared an ETA for the fix. However, now that the bug has been acknowledged officially, players hopefully won’t have to wait too long for the fix to go live.

Europa Universalis has confirmed on Twitter that the issue will be resolved in the next update. Here’s what they said:
