The Met Gala red carpet was taken over by a slew of superstars dressed in show-stopping costumes. But did you know that Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, was also present at the lavish fashion show? That’s right, you read that correctly.

Maye Musk, Elon Musk’s supermodel mother, joined him on the red carpet. Tesla CEO Elon Musk charmed photographers with his silly postures and even revealed his ambitions after acquiring Twitter.

He was dressed sharply in a black tuxedo with a white shirt and bow tie. Musk’s mother, Maye, looked stunning in a velvet burgundy Dior gown. Chopard’s tiered pearl neckpiece provided a touch of glam to her ensemble.

Elon Musk, the current richest person on the planet, and Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who has consistently called for billionaires to pay more tax, have traded barbs in the past — and the Tesla CEO did so again on Tuesday. Musk’s remark this time was directed at Ocasio-Cortez’s “Tax the Rich” Met Gala attire from last year.

Elon Musk’s post came only hours after he was spotted on the Met Gala red carpet with his mother, Maye Musk, and just days after he pretended to tell a US senator to stop “hitting” on him as she lambasted a “billionaire with an ego problem” without naming anyone.

Their newest Twitter conflict began with a video of Elon Musk making amusing faces on the red carpet of the Met Gala 2022 on Monday night. The founder of meme currency Dogecoin, Shibetoshi Nakamoto, responded with a photo of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez at last year’s Met Gala. In a white gown with “Tax the Rich” written across the back in red, the Democratic representative from New York attended “the party of the year.”

While tweeting a photo of AOC’s controversial outfit, Nakamoto addressed Musk. Tesla’s CEO stated that he couldn’t read the entire slogan.

“Can only read one side. Looks like ‘ax the itch’?” he asked.
