Duncan is an American political history podcaster and author. As a child, his interest was in ancient civilizations, especially Roman History.

After not being able to find any Roman History podcasts in 2007, Duncan started “The History of Rome”. This podcast became an award-winning weekly podcast that aired for 179 episodes until 2012. It was also downloaded more than 100 million times.

A year later, he started the Revolutions, where each season of the podcast concentrated on one revolution.

It has aired since 15 September 2013. He got his inspiration out of deep personal interests from his teenage years.

“When I was really getting into history when I was a teenager, the American Revolution was my favorite period of American history. I spent a whole period of time being really into the Russian Revolution,” Duncan said according to Vox.com.
