Elden Ring is a popular action RPG that took that was made in collaboration with the fantasy novel writer George R.R. Martin. It is developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment.
Two weeks past its release, the game had nearly a million players hooked worldwide according to SteamDB.
But in the last few days, numerous bugs and glitches such as controller not working on PC and crashing due to due Anti-Cheat and several performance issues have come to light.
That being said, recent reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) from Elden Ring players suggest that the Rivers of Blood Katana sword is not scaling according to their stats. Many say they tried upgrading the Str, Dex, and Arcane, but the weapon damage still remains static.
As it turns out, players are now advising others to not increase the weapon damage until it is patched. Below are some reports from Elden Ring players affected by the Rivers of Blood Katana sword not scaling issue.
Several players are seemingly disappointed and say that the base stats of the Rivers of Blood Katana are really good and that it has the potential to become one of the most powerful swords in the game.

Update 1 (March 8)
12:40 pm (IST): As it turns out, multiple weapons appear to be affected by the bug. A Redditor highlighted the issue and confirmed that if some weapons have arcane as one of its scalings, they will have 0 scaling.
Examples of weapons that work with arcane scaling (pure phys) : dragon communion’s seal, reduvia, morgott’s cursed sword
Examples of weapons that are bugged : Mohgwyn’s sacred spear, rivers of blood, eleonora’s poleblade, clinging bone, regalia of eochaid, marais executioner’s sword (Source)
Update 2 (March 10)
12:05 pm (IST): One of the affected users has alleged that Bandai Namco support is aware of this issue and they are currently investigating it.
Update 3 (March 11)
12:34 pm (IST): A player has shared a screenshot of an email from a support rep who acknowledged the weapon not scaling issue. He said that the team is working to resolve this bug as soon as possible.
Update 4 (March 12)
06:17 pm (IST): While fresh reports regarding this issue continue to pour in, FromSoftware has still not acknowledged it.
Update 5 (March 15)
12:18 pm (IST): While FromSoftware is yet to fix this issue, one of the affected players has suggested the weapons that gamers can level up to S rank.
Update 6 (March 16)
05:49 pm (IST): While this issue is yet to be resolved, one of the players has suggested some alternative weapons that are not affected by the scaling issue.
Update 7 (March 17)
05:00 pm (IST): Bandai Namco Entertainment released a new patch for Elden Ring players and it brings various bug fixes, new features, and balance changes. This patch also fixes the scaling issue for some weapons.
Update 8 (March 18)
04:50 pm (IST): Some players have also come out to confirm that the issue has indeed been fixed with the 1.03 patch.
