On Saturday, the fans of the popular English singer-songwriter, Ed Sheeran might get a shock as the singer has hinted when he will be retiring.
Sheeran might still be as fresh-faced as he was when he burst onto the music scene over a decade ago.
The chart-topping star who holds five number-one albums and 10 number-one singles in his career so far, says that he wants to emulate the success of Coldplay and bow out at the top of his game after a 20-year career.
The Sun at a recent conference reports him saying, “My next milestone is . . . Coldplay has done 20 years, so I would love to get to 20 years in my career.”
He also said that he feels like that’s an achievable milestone.
The 31-year-old further said that he’s very young in his career compared to someone like U2 or Coldplay, but U2 and Coldplay are two acts he looks at avidly.
He also appreciates both U2 and Coldplay for their shining careers which have now given them the ability to perform sold-out arena tours filled with hits.
