Dying Light 2 is the latest installment in the saga of first-person survival horror games developed by Techland. It is available on both PC and consoles (previous and current generation).
One of the most attractive possibilities of Dying Light 2 is being able to complete the main campaign in online co-op mode with friends. However, this option is not working correctly according to reports.
Meanwhile, Dying Light 2 players on PS5 are facing a particular issue that causes random screen flickering during gameplay, which could be uncomfortable for the eyes.
Dying Light 2 screen flickering issue on PS5
The first of the reported issues is the screen flickering that occurs in Dying Light 2 for PS5 console. This randomly causes the screen to go black for a fraction of a second (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12).
While screen flickering only lasts for a short time, it happens so much that it could end up being an annoyance in the eyes of players.
Is anyone else experiencing their monitor or tv doing this black flickering thing for not even a fraction of a second consistently on the PS5? Pretty sure it isn’t my own fault as this has only happened in this game. Source
Lastly and the most annoying is that I keep having a flashing black screen that flashes in and out now and then. Its happened in both cutscenes and gameplay and its really freaking annoying to the point I dont want to bother with the game till its fixed. Source
Some players unable to join or connect for co-op mode
Dying Light 2 players are also facing an issue related to co-op mode that could happen on various platforms and consoles (unlike the previous glitch).
Some players report that they are currently unable to invite others to start a game in co-op mode. They also cannot accept new co-op invites (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9).
Techland has not yet officially acknowledged the previously reported problems. We will keep our eyes open for new events that arise in the near future to update this article with the new pertinent information.
Do you have to get to a certain point in the game before you can invite friends for co-op? I’m about an hour in and just got to Villedor and same for my friends, but we don’t seem to have the option yet. We’re both on Steam, what gives? Source
Update 1 (February 05)
05:16 pm (IST): Dying Light support has acknowledged the issue where players can’t join or connect for co-op. The company is working on a fix but they didn’t provide any ETA.
Update 2 (February 07)
12:32 pm (IST): Dying Daylight 2 devs have shared a list of all the known bugs on PS5 which also includes screen flickering and co-op issues. And the team will implement Hotfix for these issues by the middle of next week, at the latest.
Update 3 (February 12)
12:32 pm (IST): Dying Light 2 has recently received a new patch on Play Station and Xbox which brings fixes for co-op and screen flickering issues.
Update 4 (February 23)
09:41 am (IST): Some players are still reporting issues with co-op. And Dying Light support says that they are working on a fix that should arrive soon.
Update 5 (March 10)
07:08 pm (IST): The issue where Dying Light 2 players were unable to accept invitations to play in co-op mode has been resolved on PC with patch 1.2. The update for consoles will take a little longer.
Update 6 (March 12)
05:14 pm (IST): Dying Light 2 players on PlayStation are now receiving a new patch which brings fix for the co-op mode issue.
