Early Dying Light 2 players are still finding bugs and issues in the game. We have covered many of the reported errors in the last days (1, 2, 3, 4, 5).
Dying Light 2 is a first-person survival game that challenges players to survive a world full of zombies and other dangers. Players can use various tools and weapons for that.
One of the weapons that you can find during the Dying Light 2 campaign is the Crossbow. However, some players aren’t getting the Crossbow due to a bug (1, 2, 3, 4, 5).
Some Dying Light 2 players are not receiving the Crossbow
Dying Light 2 players should receive the Crossbow upon reaching a certain point in the story. However, in some cases a glitch does not allow it.
According to reports, the glitch starts with a visual bug where all Peacekeepers’ stats are shown maxed out with all of their perks and abilities unlocked.
When the above occurs, the player will be unable to obtain the Crossbow, and even the blueprints.
Restarting the game fixed the visual bug, and it showed the correct amout (4) but still, no crossbow or blueprints. Source
Just found out that there’s a visual glitch that makes your game think you have every survivor group upgrades AKA (Jumppads, Exploading cars, etc) And once I reached Crossbow Pack for the PK clan I was never able to get my crossbow. Please fix this bug TechLand Source
A potential PC workaround to get the Crossbow and the blueprint
There is a workaround that reportedly helps resolve the missing Crossbow glitch in the PC version of Dying Light 2. If you want to try it, the first thing you should do is download this file.
After uncompressing the .zip file, copy its content and paste it into the following path: Dying Light 2\ph\source. Then you need to start the game and go to the ‘Hints’ menu section.
In ‘Hints’ you must click on the items tab and then in the search bar where you will type ‘Cross’. Then you look for the ‘PK Crossbow’ weapon and click on it.
The above process works to get the weapon. Then, to get the blueprint, in the same search bar type ‘Bolt’ and find the item ‘Craftplan_Bolt’, then simply click on it.
There seems to be no official acknowledgment from the Techland team on this matter. We will update this article if there are new related events or when a definitive fix for the bug arrives.
Update 1 (March 19)
Dying Light 2 developers recently pushed a hotfix according to which PK Crossbow rewards will be correctly awarded in co-op mode.
