British model Kate Moss testified in the Johnny Depp-Amber Heard defamation trial, disputing claims the actor threw her down a flight of stairs while they dated in the 1990s.

Instead, Moss told Deadline that Depp came to her rescue. She said that they were vacationing at the GoldenEye resort in Jamaica at the time, and that during a thunderstorm, she “slid down the stairs and hurt her back. She screamed as she was hurt.

According to Moss, Depp rushed to her rescue and brought her back to her room, where she was treated. She gave testimony through video link from Gloucester, England. “He never pushed me, kicked me, or threw me down any kind of stair,” she said.

After Heard mentioned the supermodel in her evidence, Depp’s defence team called her as a witness. Moss and Depp dated from 1994 until 1998, according to Moss. According to the site, Heard’s team decided not to cross-examine Moss.

She stated earlier this month that Depp struck at her sister, Whitney, who was near a set of steps, during one of their disputes in March 2015. Heard hit Depp to try to persuade him to stop saying, “In my head, I just instantly think of Kate Moss and stairs.”

According to Deadline, Depp’s counsel gave a fist bump to another attorney when the ‘Aquaman’ actor mentioned Moss, and Depp smiled since there was a definite option to introduce Moss into the court as a rebuttal witness.
