LIVE Updates on the Mumbai Drug Bust: Multiple senior sources told News18 that Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son, Aryan Khan, was held by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Sunday following a narcotics bust on a cruise ship off the coast of Mumbai yesterday night. Aryan Khan is presently being questioned by the agency’s sleuths, according to reports. Drugs like cocaine, hashish, and MD were recovered by NCB sleuths after they stormed the Cordelia cruise after it left Mumbai. The ship was scheduled to leave Mumbai for Goa on Saturday, according to NCB sources. Sameer Wankhede, the agency’s Mumbai zone director, received a tip and boarded the ship while pretending to be passengers. When the ship sailed away, According to reports, a party started in the middle of the water, where narcotics were used. Wankhede described the situation as “complex” in an interview with CNN-News18.
When the ship departed Mumbai and was about to reach mid-sea, the first party began, including suspected drug consumption. Following this, NCB authorities on board began conducting searches and apprehending people who were using narcotics, as well as seizing the contraband. According to CNN-News18, the party’s admission price alone was in the neighborhood of Rs 1 lakh. In a combined operation last week, NCB investigators from Mumbai and Goa detained Bollywood star Arjun Rampal’s partner Gabriella Demetriades’ brother in Goa in connection with a narcotics case. According to reports, the agency also took charas from him. Agisilaos Demetriades, Gabriella’s brother, is a South African national who was arrested.
Following the murder of actor Sushant Singh Rajput in June, the NCB started an investigation into alleged drug use in Bollywood based on drug-related WhatsApp communications. Under provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, the federal agency had already detained Rajput’s friend, actress Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik, several of the late Bollywood actor’s staff, and a few others. Rhea Chakraborty and a few other suspects have been released on bond.
