The film Stand by Me Doraemon, which was released in 2014, is one of the popular Doraemon films. Now the sequel to the film will be shown in Indonesia.

Stand by Me Doraemon 2 has been released in Japan since November 20, 2020. The release was delayed by three months due to the COVID-19 pandemic and had to be replaced by another Doraemon film, namely Doraemon: Nobita’s New Dinosaur.

Stand by Me Doraemon 2 is Doraemon’s second film that uses 3-dimensional computer animation technology. The story presented this time is likely to be more emotional than the previous one.

1. Continuation of the story of the first film

The story of Stand by Me Doraemon 2 is directly related to what is presented in the first film. Nobita has succeeded in changing the future by getting Shizuka to marry him. But there is one thing that comes to Nobita’s mind: he misses his grandmother who died when he was a child.

With Doraemon’s help, Nobita returns to the past to let go of missing his grandmother. But the problems don’t stop there. Now his grandmother wants to meet Nobita’s future wife.

2. There is about anxiety

The film Stand by Me Doraemon 2 seems to be made more relevant to today’s life. The script also includes elements of mental disorders such as anxiety and panic attacks that Nobita will experience in the future.

Approaching his marriage to Shizuka, Nobita actually ran away because he had a panic attack. He searches for Doraemon to the past and expresses his fear of marrying Shizuka. Nobita suddenly feared that he was not the right person for Shizuka.

3. Development of a 2000 short film

Stand by Me Doraemon 2 is based on a 2000 short film entitled Doraemon: A Grandmother’s Recollections. Most of the stories in this 3-dimensional animated film are taken from there. The combination of stories of meeting Nobita during elementary school with her grandmother in the past is packed into a feature film.

4. Raise hundreds of billions in theaters

The film, directed by Ryuichi Yagi and Takashi Yamazaki, was a success at the Japanese box office. Until now, the 96-minute film Stand by Me Doraemon 2 has earned IDR 329 billion from screenings in theaters. Even though this film was released in the era of COVID-19, you know!

5. Broadcast in Indonesia February 2021

Stand by Me Doraemon 2 will air in Indonesia starting February 2021. This was confirmed by the film distributor CBI Pictures via their official Twitter account. It’s just that CBI Pictures did not provide the exact date.
