Developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft, Division 2 is an online-only RPG title that was launched in March of 2019.
Set in Washington D.C. in the near future where a virus known as ‘Green Poison’ has taken over the city, players fill in the shoes of an agent working for the Strategic Homeland Division.
While the game was received coldly upon launch, Ubisoft said they have sold more than 10 million copies and termed it a commercial success.
But as is the case with the majority of Ubisoft titles, players have complained about issues such as the game freezing and crashing on PC after a recent update.
That said, Ubisoft recently made the game free-to-play for the weekend. But now, many who downloaded Division 2 say they are getting banned when launching the game for the first time (1,2,3,4,5).
It looks like the problem is preventing those affected from playing Division 2 altogether. Some initially thought it was a bug and tried restarting and reinstalling the game but that did not help either.
Thankfully, Ubisoft Support has acknowledged the issue where Division 2 players are getting banned when launching the game for the first time.
Rest assured, we will be updating this space when Ubisoft fixes the problem so make sure you stay tuned to PiunikaWeb.
