What’s more exciting than seeing your favorite Disney and Pixar characters come to life in an adventure game that lets players embark on various fascinating quests.
However, we’ve been witnessing many bugs and issues with the game lately. For instance, the ‘With Great Power’ quest recently stopped progressing for many players.
Disney Dreamlight Valley ‘A Friendly Exchange’ not progressing
And now, many players (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8) have been reporting an issue where they are unable to complete ‘A Friendly Exchange’ quest as it is not registering progress.
The quest requires players to listen to Wall-E and Ariel as they exchange gifts. But the conversation between these characters never starts thus making it impossible to complete the quest.
Even when the characters are right in front of each other, they don’t really initiate a conversation. The issue persists among other characters too like Anna and Kristoff, Ariel and Eric and so on.
Players unable to pick up light bulb
Apart from Ariel and Wall-E not talking, Disney Dreamlight Valley players (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8) are also facing an issue where they are unable to collect or pick up the light bulb.
In the ‘A Friendly Exchange’ quest, players are required to collect some items in order to trade in Ariel. But, many are unable to acquire the light bulb found in Wall-E’s house.
Disney Dreamlight Valley players have been successful in collecting other items like the bowling pin and toy train but stand clueless when it comes to getting the light bulb.
Official acknowledgment
So far, the developers have only acknowledged the issue where players are unable to collect light bulb in ‘A Friendly Exchange’ quest.
Potential workarounds
Fortunately, we have come across some workarounds that can possibly help fix both issues. Players facing issues with Ariel and Wall-E not conversing can try talking to them separately for a potential fix.
Affected players can also try waiting for the two characters to start talking themselves.
Last but not the least, simply leaving and rejoining the game seems to solve the issue as well.
For those who are unable to interact with the light bulb should start positioning their characters at random distances and wait for the ‘E Pick Up’ option to flash.
We hope that the issue where ‘A Friendly Exchange’ quest is not progressing in Disney Dreamlight Valley gets fixed soon.

05:35 pm (IST): Disney Dreamlight Valley support on Twitter has confirmed that the issue with ‘A Friendly Exchange’ will be resolved in the upcoming update. However, they did not provide any ETA for the same.

05:18 pm (IST): Disney Dreamlight Valley support has confirmed that they will release an update for the game that will include a fix for ‘A Friend Exchange’ quest bug.
