Destiny 2 seems to have had a very successful launch of its new Witch Queen expansion, and alongside said DLC, Bungie has also released the game’s 16th round of seasonal content: Season of the Risen. It would seem, however, that Season 16 comes with its own list of issues, some of which seem pretty serious.
Namely, Destiny 2 players have begun reporting that they couldn’t accept any further bounties, even though their bounty inventory was showing up almost empty. Bungie promptly responded with the explanation that Season of the Risen War Table bounties seem to be causing the issue.
A returning feature from last year’s Destiny 2 Season of the Chosen, the so-called War Table is the centerpiece of Witch Queen’s reworked H.E.L.M. headquarters. Here, players interact with various Season 16 content, get the latest updates from Lord Saladin, Zavala, and the Cabal Empress Caiatl, as well as pick up bounties and progress through the main seasonal quest line. Bounties, however, seem to permanently count towards the in-game bounty cap, even after players wrap them up and claim the rewards.
Since bounties are one of the best ways to level up fast in Destiny 2 season 16, players were understandably quick to pick them up from the War Table. However, it didn’t take long until it became apparent that, even after the bounty was completely and claimed, it would still count towards the maximum cap of active quests and bounties a player can have at once. The silver lining, at least, is that the issue is tied to repeatable bounties specifically, and the daily rotating selection doesn’t seem to be affected.
Whenever a new round of seasonal content or a major expansion pack releases, players need to level up their seasonal Artifact via XP progression to reach the latest power cap. Witch Queen’s power caps, specifically, are important because there’s a new raid coming up on March 5th, and running seasonal bounties was one of the easiest and fastest ways to go about leveling up.
Though Bungie hasn’t yet specified whether a fix for War Table’s repeatable bounties would be coming before the raid race, it’s worth remembering that players still have plenty of other options to use until the fix is deployed. FInishing the Legendary Witch Queen campaign, for one, will grant players a full set of gear at 1520, and it should be easy to reach the Contest Mode power cap of 1530 after that’s done.
Destiny 2: Season of the Risen is now available on PC, Stadia, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
