New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on February 22, 2022) follows:
Destiny 2 is an FPS action game developed by Bungie that takes place in a wide world with an MMO approach. It is currently available on many platforms and consoles in free-to-play format.
Destiny 2 regularly receives expansions with new content in the form of weapons, characters, challenges, skins, and more. The next big expansion for Destiny 2 is ‘The Witch Queen’.
For a few hours now, Bungie has allowed you to start the ‘predownload’ process. This basically allows players to have all the content ready by the time the expansion is available to play.
However, it seems that Destiny 2 players on PS4 are having issues with the process, as they are unable to download the compatibility pack for The Witch Queen expansion (1, 2, 3, 4, 5).
Destiny 2 players (PS4) can’t download The Witch Queen compatibility pack
Multiple reports indicate that Destiny 2 players on PS4 are unable to properly perform the pre-download process.
The compatibility pack for Destiny 2 The Witch Queen expansion on PS4 should be around 72 GB in size. However, players only have a small 1.8 GB download available instead of the full update.
Also, some Destiny 2 players can’t even try to start downloading the mentioned file on PS4 as the servers are down for them.
I was wondering why my witch queen predownload was only 1.8 gigs on ps4. The menu and picture for the game changed but this doesn’t seem nearly big enough for everything. Am I the only one with such a small download? Source
Bungie is already aware
The Bungie team is already aware of this glitch. They point out that due to an ‘unforeseen issue’ the content will not be available for PS4 players until tomorrow at 9 AM (PST).
This could affect the plans of some players whose internet connection is not very fast and will not be able to have the files ready by the time the expansion is available.
All Required Content is ~72 GB total. Stay tuned for updates. Source
We will update this story once there are new updates on the subject.
