Destiny 2 is a very diverse experience for anyone who wants to jump into Bungie’s looter shooter or those who are already veterans, and that’s thanks to a healthy pool of game modes. The core gameplay in Destiny 2 is quite varied, and players can enjoy different activities in both PvE and PvP, with a lot of emphasis on Raids and Grandmaster Nightfall Strikes for endgame in PvE, and Trials of Osiris for endgame in PvP. Speaking of Trials of Osiris, this game mode has been undergoing changes for a long time now, and it is currently the most reworked in the history of Destiny 2.

The latest rework came with Season of the Lost, and Bungie soon started to experiment with it after the enormous success Trials of Osiris had on the launch weekend. After some tribulations, Trials of Osiris is in a good spot now, and many Destiny 2 players are happy about the changes made this weekend through another set of Trials Labs - experimentation made by Bungie to see what works and what doesn’t. However, Trials are not all there is, and players would like to see the same effort poured into other things.

Namely, a Reddit user called Darth_Onaga shared a post about how neglected Destiny 2’s Gambit has been for over a year now, with the last improvement made to the activity dating back to 368 days ago. Thus, even though Trials of Osiris is finally in a good spot, the player advocates for a few rounds of Gambit Labs, instead, which could prove useful prior to the changes made to the PvPvE mode with The Witch Queen. This is because Gambit is a competitive mode in Destiny 2 and it can be quite fun to play, but it desperately needs new maps at the very least.

The user suggests that there could be objectives to conquer to get Motes, pretty much like mines in the Warden of Nothing Strike. Another player jokingly suggests that there could be a Gambit Labs week where every enemy is a Champion, whereas other users disagree that Gambit should be compared to Trials. Still, Gambit often only serves as an easy way to farm Pinnacle gear in Destiny 2.

Ultimately, Gambit is one of those Destiny 2 game modes where a few players still like to have fun, and as such, it should be improved in the coming months. Also, Destiny 2 players want Legendary ornaments back into Season Passes, but Gambit could serve the purpose just as well.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
