Developed and published by Bungie, Destiny 2 is one of the most popular free-to-play online multiplayer titles available on Steam. The developers released “The Witch Queen” expansion pack in February this year.
It also marked the removal of other seasonal activities from Beyond Light and the integration of the Battlegrounds activity under a single playlist called Vanguard Operations.
Having said that, bugs such as the missing Special weapon indicator light and error code ‘Baboon’ or ‘Contact Destiny 2 servers’ have troubled many in the last few weeks.
And as if that wasn’t enough, Destiny 2 players are not getting Guardian Games rewards. Many say they achieved platinum and checked with Eva after lighting up the torches but are not getting anything from the boxes.
Many are confused and wondering if they did anything wrong or are ineligible for the rewards because of a glitch. Restarting the game and verifying game files via Steam do not seem to help either.
Below are some reports (1,2,3,4,5) from Destiny 2 players who say they did not get any rewards from Guardian Games boxes.
Thankfully, a Destiny 2 community moderator commented on the matter and said the boxes in Eva’s inventory are just placeholders and the rewards come from lighting the torches.
It means Destiny 2 players who lit the torches have already received the Guardian Games rewards and need not worry any further. We hope Bungie clearly communicates with its player base so such situations do not arise in the near future.
