Here’s the crux of the article in video form:

New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on November 04, 2021) follows:

If you are an anime fan, you must be aware of the popular series, Demon Slayer. The anime even has a video game that was released on October 15 this year.

Developed by Cyberconnect2 and published by Sega, it is a 3D game based on Unreal Engine 4. It follows the story of the protagonist Tanjiro Kamado, who joins the Demon Slayer Corp and wants to save his younger sister Nezuko.

Apart from the single-story mode, the game also features a versus mode where players can fight against each other in a team of two. Surprisingly, unlike recent multiplayer games, it supports both local and online multiplayer.

Having said that, many Demon Slayer players are now reporting that they are unable to play online on Xbox. Many say that the game shows an ‘A Network Error Occurred’ message while others say they are stuck in a loop of selecting their profile.

This is really frustrating for those who want to play online ranked and custom matches. Reinstalling the game, restarting, and verifying game files don’t seem to help either.

Thankfully, it looks like Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles developers are aware of the issue and said they were working with the Xbox team to fix it. However, they did not share any ETA on when the issue will be fixed.

Until then, players won’t be able to rank up or play against their friends. If and when Demon Slayer developers fix issues with the online mode, we will keep an eye on the matter and update this article with new information so stay tuned.

Update 1 (November 06)

04:44 pm (IST): The network error issue seems to have been resolved as confirmed by Demon Slayer players on Twitter.

Update 2 (January 3)

01:18 pm (IST): It appears that many Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles players were unable to play the game a few hours ago as they were facing network issues.

Luckily, reports of the problem seem to have faded away in recent hours which indicates that the problem has been resolved. The developers are yet to acknowledge any outage.
