Xiaomi has updated over 25 devices to the latest MIUI 11 custom skin. While some of these updates included overhauls to the underlying OS, others came without any changes to the base software.
The Redmi 8, Redmi 8A and Redmi 7, for instance, picked up their MIUI 11 updates without changes to the base OS. The trio has Android Pie running the show out of the box and it is the OS that continues to power them to date.
Of course, Xiaomi is expected to update both of them to the newer Android 10, but the wait could take several more months before the OTA arrives. Until then, though, all three devices should keep receiving regular security and feature updates, like its happening now.
Owners of the Redmi 8 in Europe are receiving an MIUI 11 update that bumps the software version to 11.0.2.0.PCNEUXM. The file size is 436MB, which implies there is more than just an updated security patch to this firmware.

Redmi 8A MIUI 11 update
Where those on the EU firmware will get the OTA as version V11.0.2.0.PCPEUXM, the global models will receive the same update as version V11.0.3.0.PCPMIXM. The changes are not identical for both regions, but also to the Redmi 8 changelog.
Similar to the standard Redmi 8, we also have the download links for both European and global ROMs needed to install the new firmware manually on the Redmi 8A.
